Jagan illegal assets case: CBI told to speed up

Hyderabad, August 10: High Court on Monday directed the CBI to speed up the clearance of the pending discharge petitions. The court took up the hearing of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) case requesting to speed up the hearing of YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy's illegal assets case. CBI officials said that the discharge petitions were in pending status. The complainant mentioned in the petition that the hearing should not be delayed since the accused includes MLAs and MPs. An illegal assets case was filed against Jaganmohan Reddy relating to the investments made by various companies in Jagan's firms as quid quo pro for alleged favours given to them. This was done during the tenure of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, father of Jagan, as the chief minister between 2004 to 2009.
