Principal first accused in Rishiteswari's death: Roja
Guntur, Aug 06: YSRCP MLA Roja has demanded that ANU Architecture college principal Babu Rao should be named as first accused in Rishisteswari suicide case. A fact-finding committee of YSRCP visited the university today to inquire about the incident. Roja said that government hurriedly sanctioned 500 square yard plot and Rs 10 lakh compensation to Rishiteswari's parents after YSRCP raised the issue. Tensions prevailed for a while as police stopped Congress and YSRCP leaders from entering the university. She accused TDP of misleading the investigation team. She flayed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for not neglecting problems of women. She said that principal failed to prevent ragging in the college. MLC Ummareddy Venkateswarlu and others were present. Congress leaders also staged protests demanding judicial inquiry and arrest of the principal. The delegations met the university Vice-Chancellor and urged him to initiate action on those found guilty in the case.
