Man held for stealing money from TTD Hundi

Tirumala, Aug 06: A man was arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 13,000 from seven-feet high “Srivari Hundi” located near sanctum sanctorum of Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple here today. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials nabbed the accused on the basis of video footage. The accused was identified as Raghu from Bengaluru. According to sources, the accused pretended to be a devotee dropping money in the hundi and stole the cash. The theft happened as the hundi was filled with money and other offerings. Officials sounded alert after the theft in the high security area.
