AP to shift offices to capital at one go
Hyderabad, Aug 06: The Andhra Pradesh government has reportedly shelved the proposal to shift offices to capital in a phased manner.
According to reports, Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao informed a delegation of government employees that all the offices would be shifted to the capital region at one go.
The government may announce the roadmap and time-frame for shifting after consulting employees associations. Employees urged the government to consider academic schedule of their children before taking a decision. There were also demands to accord local status to children of employees.
It may be noted that a committee headed by senior IAS officer K S Jawahar Reddy was appointed to identify buildings to house various departments in Vijayawada and surrounding areas.
