Cash-for-vote case: Uday Simha moves HRC
Hyderabad, Aug 05: R S Uday Simha, accused in cash-for-vote scam, has moved to Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission alleging that ACB officials were threatening him.
Uday Sinha has filed a petition at HRC yesterday stating that ACB officials were using threat and coercion to extract an extra-judicial confession from him.
Judicial and extra-judicial confessions are used in courts. Confessions made in a court or given to a magistrate come under judicial confessions and confessions given to others come under extra-judicial confessions.
Uday Simha sought action against the investigating officials for violating his basic human rights. In the memorandum to HRC, he alleged that officials were pressuring him to give an extra-judicial confession to implicate some TDP leaders in the case.
