Rs 2.5 lakh incentive for inter-cast marriages

Hyderabad, Aug 05: In order to encourage inter-caste marriages, the Ambedkar Foundation has decided to provide an incentive of Rs 2.5 lakh for couples. One of the spouses need to belong to SC category and the couple should register their marriage. The couple's annual income should be below Rs 5 lakh and they should apply for the incentive within a year after marriage, said Telangana BC Welfare Department Principal Secretary T Radha in a press release here today. Of the Rs 2.5 lakh incentive, 50 per cent would be provided immediately and remaining amount will be sanctioned after 5 years.
