Need a Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Hyderabad, August 3: A girl went missing in Pakistan, 13 years ago. She is deaf and dumb. Longing to unite with her family.
Story looking familiar? Yes. but that is reel and this is real.
Soldiers of Pakistan Rangers found the girl wandering near India border in Lahore in 2002, who was about 11 years old then. They handed her over to Edhi Foundation.
Faisal Edhi, a representative of the foundation said they have named her as Gita, after knowing that she is a Hindu. She was provided a special room for doing puja.
She has pointed first Jharkhand and then Telangana when India map was shown to her. She informed through signs that she has seven brothers and four sisters. Faisal said they have been trying to locate her family but in vain.
The foundation activists persuaded her to marry a Hindu boy and settle in Pakistan. But she refused and clearly said she will marry only after reuniting with her family.
The success of Bollywood movie, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, inspired the activists to intensify their efforts to search for the hometown of Gita.
Faisal said whenever she was handed over a drawing of a house, she smiles and scribbles '193' beside the house. He said may be that is her house number back there in India.
