Probe into ANU student's suicide begins
Hyderabad, July 29: The high-level government committee started the inquiry into the ANU student's suicide in the University today.
The Committee, headed by retired IAS officer Balasubrahmanyam, consists of Vikrama Simhapuri University (Nellore) VC Veeraiah, Prof. Balakrishna Naidu from Sri Venkateswara University (Tirupati) and Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswavidyalayam Registrar P. Vijaya Lakshmi as members.
B.Arch first year student Rishikeshwari allegedly committed suicide due to ragging.
The committee interacted with lecturers, staff and students over the suicide of the student.
Balasubrahmanyam told the media that they will stay in the university and probe the issue for three days. The hostel in-charges and parents of the victim would also be questioned.
They are considering to collect students' opinions through e-mail. He said after taking the opinions of all into consideration, they will submit the final report to the government within five days.
