7-month pregnant woman runs 10 km

Chennai, July 27: In a courageous move, a seven-month pregnant woman set a new precedent by running for a distance of 10 kilometres in Chennai. Bhavani Sivam completed the 10-km run with ease in 1.29 hours. Generally, pregnant women are not advised to engage in strenuous activities. She has been a runner for three years. Her doctors told her to participate her in the event but family members expressed concern. Bhavani participated in the event to break the belief that pregnant women need complete bed rest. According to doctors, pregnant women who indulge in physical exercise will have less pain during delivery.
