61,000 millionaires left India in last 14 years
New Delhi, July 26: India stands next to China in migration of ultra-rich persons to overseas. According to a report released by New World Wealth and LIO Global, 61,000 ultra-rich Indians migrated to overseas during the past 14 years (from 2000 to 2014) due to reasons like tax, child education and security.
Similarly, China saw an outflow of 91,000 millionaires in the same period.
While Indian millionaires migrated to UAE, UK, US and Australia, Chinese elite migrated to Hong Kong, US, UK and Singapore.
France, Italy, Russia, Indonesia, South Africa and Egypt also witnessed the same trend. Turmoil in home country, security reasons and education of children are the main factors for the outflow.
