Ban on plastic-made natinal flags soon?
New Delhi/Hyderabad, July 19: The plastic-made national flags would be banned soon in the country. The Central government took this decision over multiple complaints that more plastic-made national flags are being used on Independence Day and Republic Day and throwing them on the roads.
In this context, a senior home ministry officials said that the government will soon issue order banning the use, sale and purchase of plastic-made national flags.
Mumbai High Court had directed Maharashtra government in March this year to take steps at the earliest over the ever increasing usage of plastic-made national flags. The Maharashtra government discussed the issue with the Centre which is going to impose ban soon.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government explained the Mumbai High Court that it is taking steps to publish national flag also on text books like national anthem and pledge to create awareness among the people.
