Here one day means 12 hours

Rajahmundry/Hyderabad, July 19: Several people are cashing out the heavy rush of Godavari Pushkarlu. Exorbitant prices, otherwise normal are being collected from the pilgrims at pushkar areas. In Rajahmundry, the lodge owners have lowered the stay timings from 24 hours to 12 hours. But they are charging room rent as usual, like they charge for 24-hour stay. While some others are even increasing the rent for the 12-hour stay. Auto-rickshaw drivers also increased the fares. Drinking water pocket is from Rs 2 to Rs 4. Plate idly on the roadside vendors also increased to Rs 20. The private buses plying from Rajahmundry to Hyderabad and other places were charging high fares. The Private transport like cars are collecting more than double the normal fare from passengers going to Kotipalli, Antarwedi, Kundaleshwaram, Annavaram, Draksharamam etc. The car fare,on normal days from Rajahmundry to Annavaram was Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,200. But now it was increased to Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500.
