Don't change Pranahita-Chevella design, warns Sabitha Indra Reddy
Hyderabad, July 17: Demanding that Pranahita-Chevella project should be constructed as it is, former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy warned the Telangana government that it has to face dire consequences if it changes the design of the project. Speaking to the media here on Friday, she said that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao does not like to provide drinking and irrigation water to Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts. "That is why he was announcing to limit the project up to Medak only," she added. She questioned KCR whether he had forgotten the demand of a national status to the Pranahita-Chevella project. On the other hand, MLA Rammohan Reddy and MLC of RR district alleged that the government was redesigning the Pranahita-Chevella project for the benefit of the water grid programme. The two leaders demanded that the project be continued till Chevella, under any circumstances. Congress leaders alleged that KCR is wantonly making an issue over this project, fearing that Congress may get good name if this project gets completed.
