Abandoned revolver creates flutter at pushkar ghat

Kovvur (West Godavari), July 16: An abandoned revolver found at Gauthami pushkar ghat at Kovvur in West Godavari district, created flutter for some hours today. The sanitation staff who were cleaning the ghat noticed the revolver and immediately alerted the police. The police seized the revolver that was found at an isolated place on the ghat and handed it over to a DSP rank officer. Upon inquiry, it was revealed that the revolver was a licensed one. The police are investigating whether abandoning the revolver was accidental or deliberate. The police stepped up vigil and beefed up security in view of the incident before the scheduled visit of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
