'd for daaru, p for piyo'

Raipur/Hyderabad, July 12: Normally it is a for apple, d for dog, p for parrot etc. But an alcoholic teacher gave new words for the alphabets. The incident took place at a government primary school in Koriya district of Chhattisgarh State on Friday. A teacher of this government school, Sivabaran taught the students that "D for daaru (liquor) and P for piyo (drink)". He wrote the same on blackboard and made the children to copy down in their note books and recite. The children have followed their teacher's directions. Incidentally, a journalist on that day was in the school and filmed the entire episode. When the journalist questioned the teacher, he replied that he was following the syllabus only. After a short time, the teacher came out of his drunkenness and corrected himself. He also assured not to repeat such things. But the District Collector Sanjiv Jha became aware of the incident and ordered an inquiry over the issue.
