ACB arrests Sandra
Hyderabad, July 6: TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau Officials today in connection with cash-for-vote scam. Sandra is representing Sattupalli Assembly constituency in Khammam district.
Earlier, ACB questioned Sandra for seven hours.
Sources said that Sandra nine times called one of the accused Mathaiah over phone. Officials reportedly posed 75 questions to Sandra. The officials even provided lunch to Sandra in the ACB office. Sources said that Sandra did not cooperate with officials. The case assumed significance as tapes containing the purported conversation between the complainant and AP CM Chandrababu were telecasted in TV channels.
Sandra was the fourth persons to be arrested in the scam. It may be noted Revanth Reddy, Sebastian and Uday Simha were arrested and released on bail. The ACB may give an official statement on the arrest soon. There were reports that Sandra worked for defeat of R&B Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao in MLC polls.
