MLC polls: Contest likely in 2 districts
Hyderabad, June 19: The last date for withdrawing nominations for MLC polls under Local Area Constituencies (LAC) in AP ended today. Barring Prakasam and Kurnool, candidates were unanimously elected in other districts.
TDP candidates Annam Satish Prabhakar and YSRCP candidate Ummareddy Venkateswarlu were unanimously elected from Guntur district. TDP nominees Budda Venkanna and Rajendraprasad were unanimously elected from Krishna district.
Similarly, TDP nominees Payyavula Keshav (Anantapur), Reddy Subramanyam (East Godavari), Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu (Chittoor), D Jagadish (Vizianagaram), MVVS Murthi and P Chalapathi Rao both from Visakhapatnam, were elected unanimously.
YSRCP candidate D Venkateswara Reddy and TDP nominee Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy are in contest from Kurnool LAC council seat. Similarly, Magunta Srinivasa Reddy (TDP) and Atla Chinavenkata Reddy (YSRCP) are in fray for MLC seat under LAC quota in Prakasam district.
