Red sanders smuggler Gangi Reddy to be extradited to India

Hyderabad, June 19: Kollam Gangi Reddy, prime accused in red sanders smuggling, will shortly be extradited to India and handed over to AP police. The Andhra Pradesh police have intensified efforts to extradite Gangi Reddy. A police delegation led by Rayalaseema IGP met the Mauritius Attorney General at Mumbai today and explained the criminal offences committed by Gangi Reddy and sought his extradition. The Mauritius officials assured that Gangi Reddy would be extradited within a month. Gangi Reddy was involved in several red sanders smuggling cases and he was one of the accused in the attack against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Alipiri near Tirupati in 2003. A red corner notice was issued against him and Interpol arrested him in Mauritius while he was trying to board a flight to Sri Lanka.
