Reliance to provide 4G phones under Rs 4,000

Mumbai, June 12: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that the company will soon introduce 4G phones under Rs 4,000 and offer 4G services at the existing 2G prices in the country. Speaking at the company’s annual general meeting in Mumbai, he said that Reliance Jeo’s 4G services will be launched in December. The services would be available in 80 per cent geographical area of the country during the first phase. Reliance has laid 2.5 lakh km length optical fiber cable in India and its 4G services will be available in 50 cities and 18,000 villages and towns in the nation in the first phase. Mukesh said that 10 lakh people downloaded Geo Chat app. Reliance is planning to expand 4G customer base to 5 crore by 2016.
