Andhra Pradesh Targets 9.8 Lakh Crore Investments and 7.5 Lakh Jobs at CII Summit
The Government of Andhra Pradesh announced that 410 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed at the upcoming CII Partnership Summit scheduled for November 14–15 in Visakhapatnam. The agreements are projected to attract ₹9.8 lakh crore in investment commitments and generate approximately 7.5 lakh proposed jobs across the state.
Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh described the Summit as a “three-way partnership among the people, the government, and industry,” emphasizing that every investment represents an opportunity to empower the youth of Andhra Pradesh. He stated that the event aligns with the government’s broader mission to create 20 lakh jobs and promote decentralized development across all regions of the state. Unveiling the Summit’s tagline, Nara Lokesh said, “Companies that choose speed, choose Andhra Pradesh.”
“This Summit is a partnership among our people, our government, and forward-looking corporates. Every MoU is a commitment to the dreams of our youth. Choose AP means choosing speed, trust, and opportunity grounded in Telugu pride and built for global leadership,” said Nara Lokesh.
The Summit will feature 48 sessions, including one plenary, 27 technical, three standalone, and 11 state-specific sessions. Around 300 overseas delegates from 45 countries, including G20 members, are expected to attend, along with 72 international speakers.
Prominent Union Ministers expected to participate include Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Naidu, Railways and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi, and Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh.
As part of the Summit’s focus on inclusive and decentralized growth, foundation stones will be laid for projects worth ₹2.7 lakh crore, expected to generate 2.5 lakh jobs.
The government characterized the event as a platform for collaboration between industry, government, and citizens to co-create jobs, infrastructure, and innovation. Each project and investment will be tied to measurable youth outcomes such as skills, employment, and entrepreneurship.
Highlighting the progress achieved over the past 16 months, Nara Lokesh listed several major investments: ArcelorMittal’s ₹1.5 lakh crore greenfield steel plant, Google’s ₹15 billion investment in a data and AI hub in Visakhapatnam, BPCL’s ₹1 lakh crore refinery, NTPC’s ₹1.65 lakh crore green hydrogen hub, and large-scale solar manufacturing initiatives.
Explaining why global companies are choosing Andhra Pradesh, the Minister cited multiple factors including rapid project implementation, transparent governance under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, a strong partnership with the Union Government, a skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, and business-friendly policies. The state also aims to capitalize on its scenic beauty, targeting 50,000 hotel keys by 2029 to expand its tourism potential.
The Summit will highlight Andhra Pradesh’s growing leadership in renewable energy, semiconductors, electronics, steel, ports, agri-tech, drones, AI, and quantum technologies. The government reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that every district participates in and benefits from industrial growth and employment generation.
