Crops in AP and TS destroyed by unseasonal rains, Met warns of more rains
Hyderabad, April 14, 2015: Even as three days of unseasonal rains destroyed crops in thousands of acres in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, meteorological department has predicted more rains in the two Telugu states in the next 48 hours. Crops in thousands of acres in Nalgonda, Adilabad, Medak, Warangal and Karimnagar districts of Telangana and Anantapuram, Kadapa, Chittor, Kurnool, Srikakulam and Viziangaram districts of Andhra Pradesh have gone down the drain due to the incessant rains resulting in heavy loss of crops. Mango and paddy crops suffered heavily in the rains pushing the already suffering farmers to the brink. Meanwhile, weather man has predicted that more rains are likely in both AP and Telangana in the next two days due to the low pressure formed over the states. Meteorological department said that the low pressure has been formed from southern Tamil Nadu to Western Madhya Pradesh via parts of AP and Telganana.
