AP stiffens stand, warns it will not leave anyone involved in red sanders felling
Chittor, April 12, 2015: Even as Tamil groups continued their protests for the sixth consecutive day on Sunday across Tamil Nadu over the Seshachalam encounter last Tuesday in which 20 Tamil red sanders wood cutters lost their lives, AP government once again warned that there is no question of allowing the illegal activity of red sanders wood cutting in its forests.
"There is no question of keeping silent over the illegal red sanders wood cutting. We will not leave any one involved in this illegal activity go unpunished, whoever they are," AP Minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy told reporters in Chittor on Sunday.
He also warned that the Government would consider all illegal wood cutters as smugglers and not as just labourers. "There is no difference between the wood cutters and those who pay money for them for cutting off the rare trees," he averred.
Making it clear that it is not a boarder row with Tamil Nadu, Gopalakrishna Reddy asked the Tamil Nadu political parties not to politicize the issue unnecessarily.
All the details of the encounter would be available to the people when the magisterial inquiry is over, he said answering a question.
