Jagan Bus Yatra from April 15

Hyderabad, April 12, 2015:: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will undertake a three-day Bus Yatra from April 15 to 17 and interact with the farmers on the status of irrigation projects on Godavari and Krishna rivers. “The Yatra will take off at the Godavari barrage on April 15 and he will interact with farmers at Dowlashwaram and Kovvur in racha banda programmes after praying to Pushkar deity,” Party deputy floor leader Jyothula Nehru told reporters here on Sunday. From there, he will visit the Polavaram and Pattiseema project sites and will interact with them to have first hand knowledge of the progress of work. Party MPs, MLAs and MLCs will accompany him during the three day yatra. On 16th and 17th, the ongoing irrigation projects and delay in completing them. He will also visit the nearby projects and mobilize public opinion on the apathy of Telugu Desam Government towards irrigation sector. “There are many projects which were started by YSR and are at the final stages but the State is showing no interest to complete them. This fact along with other issues would be highlighted during the Yatra,” he said. There has been staunch opposition to Polavaram project from Telangana state leaders who have been contending that Andhra Pradesh should go in for smaller projects instead. TDP government is following the same principle by taking up Pattiseema, with political and commercial motives and has been going for the impossible task giving statements that it would complete it within one year. These and other issues would be highlighted during the Bus Yatra, he said.
