Y S Sharmila Honors Her Grandfather’s Service and Vision

On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of her grandfather, Y S Raja Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Congress President Y S Sharmila paid rich tributes to him. She described him as a highly revered figure in their family and said he was a pillar of strength for the Ediguru Sandinti lineage.

Y S Sharmila recalled that it was Y S Raja Reddy who played a crucial role in shaping her father, the late former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, into a great people's leader and a prominent figure in politics.

"On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of my grandfather Y S Raja Reddy, I am paying him rich tributes. He was known for his unparalleled courage and bravery. With firm values, he stood by his people during times of distress. I have seen him with my own eyes. Patience and courage were his weapons," she said.

She explained that listening to the problems of the people with patience and addressing them with sincerity was his guiding philosophy.

“Raja Reddy was a true people's leader. He built a hospital out of concern for the health of the people. Out of his desire to see children pursue higher education, he established several educational institutions such as a degree college, a women’s college, and a polytechnic college. As a man of the people, he earned a permanent place in their hearts. His legacy will live on forever,” Sharmila stated.

She further said that the courage, discipline, and commitment to justice shown by Y S Raja Reddy helped shape their future in public service. “I proudly say that the service and dedication of Raja Reddy will continue to inspire generations,” Sharmila said as she remembered her grandfather's contributions.
