Yamaha Launches 10-Year Warranty Scheme to Mark 40 Years in India
Yamaha Motor India, which has established a distinct presence in the Indian two-wheeler market, is celebrating a significant milestone—completing 40 years of operations in the country. To commemorate this historic occasion, the company has announced an exceptional offer for its customers. Yamaha has introduced a “10-year comprehensive warranty” scheme on all motorcycles and scooters manufactured in India, aimed at providing long-term assurance to buyers.
Under this scheme, Yamaha is offering an extended warranty of eight years in addition to the standard two-year warranty. This comprehensive coverage specifically applies to crucial components such as the engine, electrical systems, and the fuel injection (FI) system. According to the company, this scheme will be available free of cost for a limited period to customers purchasing new Yamaha vehicles. Following the initial promotional period, the extended warranty can be availed for a nominal fee, although Yamaha has not yet disclosed the exact cost.
This 10-year warranty plan covers a range of scooters including the Ray ZR Fi, Fascino 125 Fi, and Aerox 155 Version S, with coverage extending up to 100,000 kilometers. For Yamaha’s popular motorcycle lineup—including the FZ Series, R15, and MT-15—the warranty benefits apply up to 125,000 kilometers.
An additional highlight of the scheme is the warranty transferability feature. In case the vehicle is sold, the warranty remains valid for the new owner as well. This provision could potentially enhance the resale value of Yamaha vehicles.
Currently, Yamaha offers several popular models in India, such as the YZF-R15 series, FZ Series, and MT-15 in the motorcycle category. In the scooter segment, the Ray ZR has received strong market response. Industry experts estimate that Yamaha’s new warranty initiative will further boost its sales momentum.
