Police Crack the Murder Case of TDP Leader Veeraiah Chowdary in Prakasam District
Police have cracked the murder case of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Veeraiah Chowdary in Prakasam district. Prakasam District Superintendent of Police (SP) Damodar stated that the murder was driven by a local supremacy conflict in Veeraiah Chowdary’s native village. As part of the investigation, nine individuals have recently been arrested. SP Damodar presented the accused before the media today.
Speaking at the press conference, SP Damodar disclosed that four individuals were directly involved in the murder. He reported that Veeraiah Chowdary succumbed to approximately 50 stab wounds.
SP Damodar further stated that the murder had political motivations as well. He said that certain individuals were envious of Veeraiah Chowdary’s rise in politics. Additionally, there was a power struggle in the village over sand dealings.
Detailing the case, SP Damodar revealed that a man named Alla Sambayya masterminded the murder plan. Sambayya is a practitioner of Vastu Shastra (traditional Indian architecture and spatial alignment). The execution of the murder conspiracy was facilitated through an individual named Vinod.
According to SP Damodar, Sambayya perceived Veeraiah Chowdary’s growing influence as a threat. He launched political campaigns against Veeraiah to counter his rise. Sambayya reportedly feared that Veeraiah’s political success would jeopardize the political future of his nephew Suresh. Moreover, Sambayya grew anxious following rumors that Veeraiah might receive a nominated post, which intensified his motive.
It was revealed that ₹25 lakh was spent on the murder plot. SP Damodar stated that four individuals directly participated in the killing: Vamsi Krishna, Venkata Gautam, Mannem Teja (also known as Bunny), and Nagaraju. He added that the accused were apprehended through a manhunt conducted by 100 teams.
SP Damodar also informed that Sambayya’s nephew Suresh, along with Nagaraju and Nani, are currently absconding.
