Sania Mirza Shares Powerful Message on ‘Operation Sindoor’ Featuring Sophia Qureshi and Vyomika Singh’s Photo
In retaliation to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Army conducted precision strikes on nine terrorist camps located across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), under the codename ‘Operation Sindoor’. These coordinated military operations were carried out on Wednesday morning, and full details were disclosed to the media by Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force and Colonel Sophia Qureshi of the Indian Army, alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

The unprecedented briefing, delivered by two senior female officers, drew significant attention and praise across the nation. Among the many responses was a powerful social media post by former Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. She shared a post originally published by journalist Faye D’Souza, which featured a photograph of Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. “The message in this powerful photo fully represents who we are as a nation,” Faye D’Souza wrote in her post, which was then reshared by Sania Mirza.

The backdrop to Operation Sindoor was the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which left several men dead and turned many women into widows. As a tribute to these women, the operation was not only executed with precision but also presented to the public by female officers—a gesture considered an integral part of Operation Sindoor’s symbolism.

The Indian Army launched missile strikes targeting terror camps in nine key locations: Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bahawalpur, Rawalakot, Chakswari, Bhimber, Neelum Valley, Jhelum, and Chakwal. Of these, five are situated in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, while the remaining four are located within mainland Pakistan. Intelligence agencies had long suspected these locations to be strongholds of terrorist organizations, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). These groups have been responsible for numerous attacks in India over the years, resulting in the deaths of countless innocent civilians.
