A Malayalam Movie That Will Steal Hearts on OTT!

Basil Joseph, a name increasingly associated with comedy in recent times within the Malayalam film industry, is continuing his momentum with both films and web series. Now, a new movie featuring his signature comic style is set to premiere on SonyLIV. The title of the film is Maranamass.

Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas, who has been enjoying a successful run as a leading hero, is the producer of this film. He bankrolled Maranamass under his own production banner. The movie was released in theatres on April 10 this year. Made with a modest budget of ₹8 crore, the film grossed over ₹18 crore at the box office.

Directed by Shiva Prasad, the film features prominent roles by Rajesh Madhavan, Shiju Sunny, Babu Antony, and Suresh Krishna.

Marana Mass falls under the dark humour genre and will begin streaming on SonyLIV starting from May 15. In addition to Malayalam, it will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi languages. The film received a positive response during its theatrical run, and it remains to be seen how well it will be received in the OTT space.
