Judicial Remand Extended Again for Vallabhaneni Vamsi
In the Satya Vardhan kidnapping case, the Vijayawada court has once again extended the judicial remand of former Member of the Legislative Assembly and YSR Congress Party leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan. Alongside Vamsi, the remand for the other accused individuals in the case has also been extended until May 13, 2025, according to recent court orders.
It is already known that police arrested Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan on February 13, 2025, naming him as the prime accused (A1) in this case. The complaint was filed by M. Satya Vardhan, who alleged that he had been kidnapped, threatened, and subjected to extortion. According to the complaint, during an attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Gannavaram in 2023, Satya Vardhan—a Dalit youth who was working as a computer operator at the time—was kidnapped by Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan and his associates.
The police investigation revealed that during the kidnapping, Satya Vardhan was transported between Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. Recently, the release of CCTV footage by Minister Kollu Ravindra has brought political significance to the case. The footage, dated February 13, reportedly shows Vamsi's followers taking Satya Vardhan to court in a car, and this visual evidence has become a crucial aspect of the case registration.
So far, a total of eight individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. Among them are Venkata Sivarama Krishna (A7) and Nimmala Lakshmipathi (A8). Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan is currently held as a remand prisoner in Vijayawada district jail.
