TDP Senior Leader and Former MP Palakonda Rayudu Passes Away

Sugavasi Palakonda Rayudu, a senior leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and former Member of Parliament, passed away at the age of 80 due to health complications. A native of Rayachoti in Annamayya district, he died at a private hospital in Bengaluru around 3:00 a.m. today while undergoing treatment, according to family members.
Palakonda Rayudu had been suffering from health issues for the past two days. In an effort to provide him with better medical care, his family admitted him to a hospital in Bengaluru. However, his condition worsened during the course of treatment, and he passed away. His death at the age of 80 has cast a pall of gloom over the Rayachoti constituency.
Palakonda Rayudu was widely recognised for his extensive political experience. He was elected four times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Rayachoti constituency and once as a Member of Parliament representing the Rajampet constituency. Over the years, he served as a public representative during the tenures of chief ministers Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, and Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, carving a distinctive identity for himself in the political landscape.
The news of Palakonda Rayudu’s passing has deeply saddened TDP cadres and his supporters. State ministers Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy and BC Janardhan Reddy expressed profound grief over his death. In their condolence messages, they described his demise as an irreplaceable loss not only to his family but also to the people of Rayachoti and TDP activists. They recalled his inseparable bond with the people of Rayachoti and offered prayers for his soul to rest in peace.
