Gujarat Titans Post 224 Against Sunrisers in Ahmedabad Showdown

Gujarat Titans’ clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad turned into a high-scoring affair, with the home team setting a mammoth target. Playing at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans amassed a commanding total of 224 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs, powered by an aggressive top-order performance.

From the outset, Gujarat Titans’ batters displayed an attacking approach. Sai Sudharsan provided the team with a brisk start, scoring 48 runs off just 23 balls, including nine boundaries. He was eventually dismissed, caught by Heinrich Klaasen off the bowling of Zeshan Ansari.

At the other end, captain Shubman Gill took charge, accelerating the innings with a fluent knock. Gill scored 76 runs from 38 balls, hitting ten fours and two sixes. His innings came to an end through a run-out, following a coordinated fielding effort by Harshal Patel and Heinrich Klaasen.

Jos Buttler contributed significantly with a power-packed innings in his typical style. Facing 37 deliveries, he scored 64 runs, including three fours and four sixes, playing a pivotal role in helping the team cross the 200-run mark. He was dismissed after offering a catch to Abhishek Sharma off the bowling of Pat Cummins.

Later contributions came from Washington Sundar (21 runs off 16 balls), Sharukh Khan (unbeaten 6 runs from 2 balls), and Rahul Tewatia (6 runs from 3 balls), adding useful runs in the final overs.

Among the opposition bowlers, Jaydev Unadkat stood out with a disciplined spell. He bowled four overs, conceding 35 runs and claiming three crucial wickets. Unadkat’s final over of the innings saw him dismiss Washington Sundar, Rahul Tewatia, and Rashid Khan (who did not score). Captain Pat Cummins and Zeshan Ansari took one wicket each. However, Mohammed Shami and Harshal Patel proved expensive, giving away 48 runs in 3 overs and 41 runs in 3 overs respectively.
