PV Ramesh, a retired IAS officer who served as the Special Finance Secretary of Andhra Pradesh during the implementation of the skill development project, has expressed surprise and disappointment regarding reports suggesting that former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was arrested based on his statement. Speaking to The News Minute, Ramesh stated that, in his opinion, there were no legal violations in the skill development project. Ramesh explained that while Suneetha's suggestion to start with a pilot project was prudent, Chandrababu's ambitious vision for Andhra Pradesh as a manufacturing powerhouse, with industrial corridors financed by a 30,000 crore loan from international financial organizations and demanding a vast pool of skilled and trained personnel, necessitated initiating a project of a much grander scale.
