On Thursday, the Telangana High Court removed Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, the Gadwal MLA from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), from his position. Now, his aunt, BJP leader DK Aruna, will take his place as MLA. In the 2018 elections, DK Aruna lost to him by 28,445 votes. The court fined Reddy Rs 2.5 lakh for changing the official document he gave to the election group and an additional Rs 50,000 because of costs for DK Aruna. DK Aruna said Reddy didn't tell the truth about his property on the official paper. He even sold some property when the court told him not to. DK Aruna was elected three times as an MLA from 2004 to 2014. But after losing to Reddy in the election, she left the Congress party in 2019, joined the BJP, and became a national vice-president.
