Sircilla: Nalla Vijay, a talented young handloom weaver and recipient of Akkineni Foundation's Cheneta Kalaratna award, has once again displayed his exceptional skills by crafting a mesmerizing silk saree adorned with 20 grams of gold and silver. Impressed by his craftsmanship, a prominent Hyderabad business magnate purchased this exquisite creation for his daughter's wedding. In a press meet held on Saturday, Vijay proudly unveiled the specifications of the saree, boasting a width of 48 inches and a length of five and a half meters, weighing a total of 500 grams, and priced at Rs 1.80 lakh. It took him thirty days to handweave this masterpiece, pouring his heart and soul into every intricate detail. Vijay's talent runs in the family; his late father, Nalla Parandamulu, a renowned weaver, gained fame for weaving a saree that could fit into a matchbox.
