The demand for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement regarding the Manipur violence issue has led to a tense atmosphere in both the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament. Despite repeated appeals from the Opposition, PM Modi has so far refrained from addressing the matter. As the Rajya Sabha session reconvened at 11 am, several BJP MPs along with representatives from BJP-allied parties in the North East urged the Chairman to allow a short-duration discussion on the Manipur issue.
