Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a house owner in Hyderabad's Chintal experienced a disaster after his attempt to raise the height of his house went wrong. He used hydraulic jacks to lift the house in hopes of avoiding the yearly monsoon flooding, but the jacks shifted, causing the building to lean onto the adjacent property. The residents evacuated in fear. Local authorities from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) inspected the building and decided to demolish it. According to locals, Nageshwararao, the house owner, had built the house in Srinivasnagar around 25 years ago. Over time, with the road level rising, rainwater started seeping into his house. This year, he took measures to lift the house using a hydraulic jack system, however, this led to the house leaning onto a neighbouring building. Nageshwararao is now under police investigation for starting renovation work without any official permission. Meanwhile, the GHMC has resolved to demolish the house.
