Hyderabad: The Telangana Junior Panchayat Secretaries (JPS) have called off their 16-day strike, according to reports. The state government ordered the JPS to return to duty before 12 noon on Saturday, and many JPS in several districts returned to work. The JPS union's state president, Shrikant Goud, and other representatives announced the end of the strike and handed over the letter to Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao in Thorrur of Mahabubabad district on Saturday night. It is learnt that the JPS will resume their duties from Monday. Earlier, Chief Secretary Shantikumari had issued orders on Friday, warning that the JPS would be removed from their positions if they did not report to duty by Saturday afternoon. The state government suggested appointing new temporary JPS in their place if anyone did not return to duty by Sunday.
