In a recent visit to the city, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched various programs, including the Andhra Premier League Season 2 in Vizag. During the launch, the Chief Minister met with players and officials, and motivated them with his presence and gestures. Ministers RK Roja and Vidadala Rajini accompanied the Chief Minister. This visit holds significance as the Chief Minister had previously announced that Vizag would become the administrative capital of the State from September, as part of the decentralization process. The people of Vizag have been supportive of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's efforts in bringing development to the Northern Andhra region, which had been neglected for decades. Ahead of the Chief Minister's visit, hoardings with messages of support such as "Vizag stands with you," "Thank you CM Sir," and "Mana Visakha... Mana Rajdhani" were installed at various main junctions in the city, welcoming the CM.
