Telangana Minister Harish Rao has once again found himself in the midst of controversy after reacting strongly to criticism from Andhra Pradesh (AP) ministers. Speaking at the BRS Atmiya Sabha in Siddipet district, Harish Rao made key comments defending himself against the accusations. He denied having criticized the people of AP and claimed that nothing has been done by them. However, some AP leaders claimed that they were being targeted unfairly. Harish Rao went on to advise the AP ministers to fight for the Special Status of their state, if possible. He also suggested that they should work towards preventing Vizag Steel Plant privatization issue and completing the Polavaram project and providing water to the people of the state, similar to the Kaleshwaram project in Telangana. Harish Rao challenged the AP ministers to match the level of development that Telangana has achieved. Defending his comments, Harish Rao said that he was only comparing Telangana's progress in development with neighbouring states
