Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao have announced the appointment of Himanshu Tiwari, a prominent farmers' leader, as the party's new general secretary. Tiwari, a 31-year-old native of Uttar Pradesh, will be responsible for actively participating in the organisational work of BRS as its national general secretary. Tiwari gained recognition as a member of the United Kisan Morcha in 2020-2021 and served on the National Executive of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), which vigorously opposed the government's three controversial farm laws. His appointment as BRS general secretary is expected to strengthen the party's position on issues related to farmers and agriculture. In addition to Tiwari's appointment, KCR has also named six divisional coordinators for Maharashtra. Dasrath Sawanth will be responsible for overseeing the Nashik division, while Balasaheb Jairam Deshmukh will serve as the coordinator for Pune division. Previously, KCR entrusted Manik Kadam with leading the BRS Kisan Cell as its president in Maharashtra. These
