The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a plea from Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday in connection with the Excise policy scam case. The case also involves the name of BRC MLC K Kavitha as one of the accused. It is worth noting that Kavitha, who is the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister KCR and an MLC herself, was questioned by the CBI last December regarding the same scam. She approached the court after the Enforcement Directorate named her in a remand report on alleged kickbacks related to the case. She sought injunction orders against the leaders involved.
