Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted the temple town of Varanasi with a world-class river cruise and a fancy "tent city" as part of his efforts to boost tourism and development in the holy city. On January 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will use video conferencing to launch a "Tent City" on the banks of the Ganga river in Varanasi and flag off the MV Ganga Vilas, the longest river cruise in the world. Several additional inland waterways projects worth more than Rs 1,000 crore will also be inaugurated during the occasion, according to a statement from his office. The river cruise, which is set to be the longest in the world, will take visitors on a journey along the Ganges river, offering a unique perspective of the city's rich culture and history. The cruise will feature state-of-the-art facilities and modern amenities, including air-conditioned cabins, on-board restaurants, and observation decks.
