At the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2023, the US-based business ASKA showcased the first fully operational prototype of the 'ASKA A5' electric drive and fly Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) vehicle. The ASKA A5 is the first four-seat flying car in existence, and it can travel on land for up to 250 miles on a single charge. The company is also introducing the ASKA On-Demand travel service, which will launch in 2026 and feature a fleet of ASKA vehicles operating as needed in major cities and the areas around them. For instance, ASKA includes broad wings that, in the event of an emergency, can help the craft glide to a secure landing. It is powered by an engine and batteries, respectively. Each wing has one of the six propellers, adding extra redundancy for secure landings.
