Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party and a member of parliament, paid a visit to the Thuravoor Mahakshethram Temple, which dates back to the year 1303, and is one of Kerala's most revered temples. Padma Shri recipient Peruvanam Kuttan Marat was one of the performers of Chenda Melam, a centuries-old and wildly popular art form in Kerala. Rahul Gandhi expressed his gratitude for being present in the Thuravoor Mahakshethram Temple at that time. Kerala is the current location of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Before starting in Karnataka on October 1, it would travel 450 kilometres through 7 districts over the course of 19 days in the state. The Bharat Jodo Yatra is a 3500-kilometer padyatra that takes place over the course of five months from Srinagar in the north to Kanyakumari in the south of India. The campaign is to draw attention to governmental centralization, economic inequality, and social polarisation.
