Monday marked the start of the third day of the AP Assembly session. TDP MLA Buchaiah Choudhary has questioned the specifics surrounding the flooded villages in Polavaram during the time allotted for questions and answers. Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary questioned Water Resources Minister Ambati Rambabu over the amount of compensation owed to Polavaram project evacuees. He demanded information on the farmers and criticised the ruling party for claiming that this issue is unrelated. Is this government's treatment of refugees justifiable? Chowdhary asked. He has also questioned the state government about the problems with cofferdams and diaphragm barriers. According to Minister Ambati Rambabu, he will respond to Chandrababu if he inquires about the Polavaram issue. The Minister has alleged that the Polavaram project was handled improperly by the previous government's Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. While criticising Chandrababu for his approach towards Polavaram, the Minister claimed that a historic error was made when the diaphragm wall was built without the cofferdams being finished.
