In an effort to defeat the BJP in a rally-versus-rally contest to commemorate the acquisition of the once-princely state of Hyderabad by India in 1948, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (also known as KCR) today accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of engaging in polarising politics. CM KCR made this statement while voicing his desire and essentially setting a deadline for the BJP-led central government to approve Telangana's 10% tribal reservation. KCR's latest step as he attempts to organise Opposition forces at the national level for a coordinated push in 2024 is his focus on tribal community concerns, which raises another challenge for the BJP government. While the BJP referred to September 17 as National Liberation Day, the TRS administration and MIM party did not. They called it as National Integration Day On the other end, Telangana's state government has been charged with vote-bank tactics by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
