Dramatic scenes were seen in the nation's capital as Congress leaders organised large-scale demonstrations against the Narendra Modi administration. Along with other Congress MPs, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were detained as they attempted to march from the Parliament to Rashtrapati Bhavan. On problems of inflation, unemployment, and GST on food products, the party staged a national demonstration against the Centre. Rahul Gandhi attacked the Centre harshly earlier in the day and compared PM Modi to Hitler. Rahul remarked, 'Even Hitler was chosen through elections.' Pralhad Joshi, a minister for the union, retaliated by calling him 'Nakli Gandhi.'
