New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party demanded an apology from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi over her party leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury's objectionable comments against President of India Droupadi Murmu. It is known that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury called Droupadi Murmu as 'Rashtrapatni' and it sparked a debate among the political parties. Smriti Irani said that Sonia Gandhi sanctioned the humiliation of the President of India through her male Congress leaders. She termed Sonia Gandhi as "anti-Adivasi, anti-Dalit and anti-woman". Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman demanded an apology from Sonia Gandhi and termed it as deliberate sexist abuse. Sonia Gandhi said that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury already tendered an apology over his remarks.
