Khammam, May 18: Vanajeevi Ramaiah, who received Padma Shri Award for planting lakhs of trees, suffered injuries on a leg and head when a bike rammed into him while he was crossing road to water plants at Pallegudem in the early hours of Wednesday. Immediately, locals rushed him to the Government General Hospital in Khammam for medical treatment. After examining Ramaiah, doctors said one of his legs got fractured and sustained injuries on head. On hearing that Ramaiah met with an accident, TRS Rajya Sabha MP J. Santosh Kumar, creator of Green India Challenge, spoke to doctors and asked them to provide best treatment to him. The MP wished that Ramaiah should recover very quickly.
