A Magistrate's court in Chennai has issued an arrest warrant for director RK Selvamani, the husband of YSRCP MLA Roja, for failing to appear for a defamation trial. In addition to Selvamani, a warrant was issued in connection with the defamation action against Arul Anbarasu, a former Congress MLA and the son of former Congress MP Anbarasu. Mukanchand Bothra, a film investor, had filed a defamation suit. Gaganchand, his son, has been battling the case since his father died. According to sources, the XV Metropolitan Magistrate in George Town issued bailable arrest warrants for the two, requiring their presence in his court on April 23. The warrants were issued because the two accused failed to appear in court on previous occasions and when they were summoned on April 5. The said development took place when Selvamani and former Congress MLA Arul Anbarasu were interviewed by a TV broadcaster in 2016.
